MGM Grand, Las Vegas - BoxingScene.com and other members of the media caught up with middleweight contender Gabriel Rosado shortly after his "Grand Arrival" for his May 4th showdown against the unbeaten J'Leon Love. The fight will be part of the pay-per-view undercard for Floyd Mayweather Jr's showdown against Robert Guerrero.
Rosado and Love were involved in a heated exchange that also included Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe jawing at Rosado. The Philadelphia native said that Love and his promoter's actions show that they are really nervous about the upcoming fight.
"A coward pops off. That's emotions man. He's showing emotions. They know I'm a problem. That's why they needed to get into my f***ing face. They know Love is in a real fight. So if I'm nobody why is Leonard Ellerbe up in my face trying to get me amped up? You are doing that because I'm a threat. I know what you are trying to do. I'm too smart man. I know what the f***ing game plan is. I know what they are trying to do," Rosado explained.
Rosado said that he will try to strategically try to set Love up for a knockout and believes his experience will be a key.
"Look man I am going for the knockout. I'm going for the kill. I always go for the knockout but you don't go in their looking for the knockout. You set the knockout up. Like the veteran I am I am going to set the knockout up," Rosado revealed.
Rosado said he couldn't really remember what Love or Ellerbe said when they were in his face. He also said that sparring and fighting a live fight are two completely different things.
"Who knows man. I wasn't really paying attention. I just know I had two bitch ass motherf***ers talking in my face," Rosado stated.
"He spars Mayweather and all that but when I was younger I sparred Bernard Hopkins. Sparring and fighting are two different things. I know what it is like to be in the ring with a vet. I'm gonna blow his mind. May 4th I'm gonna blow his mind."
