Polideportivo Espana in Managua, Nicaragua - In a fight held way above his weight limit, WBA junior flyweight champion Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez (35-0, 29 KOs) stopped Ronald Barrera (31-12-2, 19 KOs) in five rounds. Barrera was down in the fifth. The match was originally scheduled for a max weight of 113-pounds, with Gonzalez looking to test the waters at flyweight, but on Friday the two boxers weighed in at 116-pounds, making it a pound above super flyweight. Some doubt Gonzalez will be able to return to 108-pounds in the future.
