The WBA's "super champion" at flyweight, Nicaraguan Roman 'Chocolatito' Gonzalez (35-0, 29KOs), is likely not returning to the junior flyweight division. The boxer flew to Panama on Tuesday to officially pick up his WBA belt, but he informed the sanctioning body that there are no opponents at the weight and plans to make a full jump to the flyweight limit of 112-pounds. One potential opponent being mentioned by his management, says Gonzalez, is WBC flyweight champion Akira Yaegashi (17-3, 9KOs) of Japan. Last weekend Gonzalez stopped Ronald Barrera in five rounds. The bout was fought at 116-pounds, which made many doubt the talented boxer would ever return to 108.
