The plans for Nicaraguan boxer Román "Chocolatito" Gonzalez have changed again. The flyweight champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA) will defend his crown against Mexican boxer Omar Salado - and not against his compatriot Omar "Lobito" Soto as several outlets had announced in recent days.

The date of the show has been switched, from July 9 to July 23, in Mexico, with Zanfer Promotions handling the promotional end. Initially Salado was worried about his ability to make the division limit of 108-pounds but with two extra weeks the worries are now gone and he accepted the fight.

Salado has a record of 22-3-2, 13KOs, while Gonzalez is perfect with a 28-0 tally and 23 knockouts.
