Roman Gonzalez To Face Gilberto Keb on October 1

By Pablo Fletes, notifight.com

Promoter Fernando Sanchez of Prodesa has announced that a deal was reached for Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez to defend his WBA junior flyweight title against ex-beltholder Gilberto Keb Bass (35-21-4, 22 KOs) on October 1 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The event will be staged by Teiken Promotions, Zanfer Promotions and Top Rank. Previously, Gonzalez's promoter was trying to get him a Filipino opponent.

"Keb sounds like a good fight. If they tell me Mexican, if they tell me Filipino - it does not matter who I fight," Gonzalez said. "The most important thing is that I fight. I want to win for everyone in Nicaragua so they can enjoy my victory."

Keb was just tko'd y Adrian Hernandez, quite convinceingly , his last fight, so how does he qualify??? Losing has it's merits...This will be a slaughter!!!

Keb Baas as an opponent is a lot better than Donaire.

if gonzalez has a bad night keb bas might beat him he's very crafty, unfortunately after such a long career keb chin is just not good anymore

Roman Gonzales is dodging Filipino fighters. Make him fight Denver Cuello or Donnie Nietes, if not he'll be known as little Floyd.:boxing:

Be great if he and Segura or even Calderon fought.
