| Rogers Mtagwa Wins, in Line To Face Jhonny Gonzalez?
|
|
By Miguel Rivera Rogers Mtagwa (27-14-2, 19KOs) made a quiet return to ring at the Convention Center in Acapulco, Mexico, and stopped Pedro Navarrete (26-13-3, 12KOs) in the eight round. Mtagwa came back from back to back defeats to Yuriorkis Gamboa and Juan Manuel Lopez. There were rumors swirling around in Mexico that Mtagwa took the fight to grab a quick win in order to get himself a possible fight WBC featherweight champion Jhonny Gonzalez (49-7, 43KOs) on September 15th. Gonzalez's original opponent fell out and Filipino Jonel Alibio had reportedy stepped in, but now there could be another switch being planned. Tags: Jhonny Gonzalez |
