| Rocky Martinez vs. Juan Carlos Burgos Being Worked Out

By Jhonny Gonzalez Discussions continue for a mandatory fight between World Boxing Organization featherweight champion Roman 'Rocky' Martinez (26-1-1, 16KOs) of Puerto Rico and top challenger Juan Carlos Burgos (30-1, 20KOs) of Mexico. Martinez won the 130-pound crown on September 15 in Las Vegas with a split decision over Miguel Beltran Jr. The problem right now is finding a proper date to stage the event. The remainder of the year is already booked up tight. One potential date being considered by Puerto Rico Best Boxing is December 15th, but the date is far from being solid. The difference between Cruz and Ramon Martinez is Cruz has a better defence.....Martinez has ZERO defence but Martinez throws more punches than Cruz. Martinez lands more but he gets hit more so the Burgos/Cruz fight could go either way. 50/50 type of fight. |

Rocky should win this fight. Beltran is a better boxer than Burgos. I think what messed Beltran up was that he was probably going to come and preassure Rocky and the opposite happened. Beltran is a better boxer than Rocky IMO also. |
