Barely two hours after David Carmona and Warlito Parrenas fought to a stalemate in their interim WBO junior bantamweight title fight in Mexico, Roberto Domingo Sosa and Javier Chacon were also fit to be tied. The pair of Argentine junior bantamweight fought to a 10-round draw in their interim Latino junior bantamweight title fight Saturday evening in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

While the winner would have been a long way from a shot at any of the division's key players, Sosa saw it means to return to the title picture. Two years after dropping a competitive but clear decision to Juan Carlos Sanchez Jr. in their vacant title fight in Las Vegas, Sosa was once again on the doorstep of contention.

However, the 30-year old had his hands full with his older countryman, as Chacon—four years his senior—had designs of his own of moving towards one more title shot. Separate losses to Anselmo Moreno and Jamie McDonnell convinced the 34-year old veteran boxer to move down in weight, dropping from bantamweight for Saturday's opportunity.

It suddenly became Sosa's problem, as an entertaining 10-round battle ensued in Buenos Aires. Neither fighter seemed to enjoy the lead for very long or generally get the better of each other over the long haul. Both of those aspects were properly reflected in the scorecards, with a 95-95 verdict on all three scorecards handing both fighters the first draw of their respective careers.

Sosa is now 26-2-1 (14KOs), but just 2-2-1 in his past five starts. Chacon's record moves to 20-3-1 (5KOs).

The main event bout aired live on Argentina TyC Sports.
