Robert Woge: record, next fight and profile →
The official weigh-in is over in Berlin for tomorrow’s show at the Max-Schmeling-Halle, Berlin, Germany: The main event will feature a championship battle between Juergen Braehmer and Eduard Gutknecht.
Up until last week Robert Woge (10-0, 9 KOs) did not even know if he was going to participate on the bill of the European Light Heavyweight Championship between Eduard Gutknecht and Juergen Braehmer at the Max-Schmeling-Halle in Berlin on February 2. But not only will the prodigy of coach Ulli Wegner be part of the night, he will also get his first shot at a professional title, when he takes on Hakim Zoulikha (18-3, 9 KOs) for the vacant IBF Intercontinental Title.
20-year old German hopeful Tyron Zeuge was taken to the full route for the first time in his fourth professional bout. Zeuge experienced little problems with fellow undefeated Belgian Matingu Kindele (3-1), 28, dominating him to a wide unanimous decision. Kindele was way too wide with his shots, while the German light heavyweight was sharp, fast and resilient. Kindele was forced to take a knee in the third after the right hand of Zeuge to his body. BoxingScene had it 60-53 - for Zeuge (4-0, 3 KOs).
German light heavyweight Robert Woge, 9-0 (8), face Italian Sergey Demchenko, 14-3, on the undercard to Marco Huck vs. Firat Arslan on November 3 in Halle/Westfalen. Woge has with his straight forward, hard punching style made himself popular but turned pro as a freelancer and had to fight a few test fights before being signed up by Sauerland.
Messehalle, Erfurt, Thüringen, Germany - Marco Huck (34-2-1, 25KOs) retained his WBO cruiserweight title with a twelve round majority draw against Ola Afolabi (19-2-4, 9KOs). The scores were 114-114, 115-113 Huck and 114-114. The fight was exciting and fireworks filled many of the rounds as both boxers traded bombs to no end.
