Sources close to the situation have advised BoxingScene.com that several options are being discussed for a year-end fight involving WBC interim-welterweight champion Robert Guerrero (30-1-1, 18KOs).
Guerrero made his welterweight debut in July, winning a twelve round unanimous decision over unbeaten Selcuk Aydin.
Among the possibilities in play - a fight with Marcos Maidana (32-3, 29KOs), who now campaigns at 147-pounds.
There is also some discussion about a potential fight on November 24th with former WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto (28-1, 22KOs). A few short weeks ago, Berto was being positioned for a planned bout with IBF 154-pound champion Cornelius Bundrage. There are reportedly some issues with that fight and some believe it might fall apart. If the fight crumbles, then Guerrero could possibly slide his way in.
And there is also possibility of Guerrero taking on the winner of the October 20th fight between IBF king Randall Bailey and challenger Devon Alexander.
