Robert Garcia Prefers Mikey To Face Juanma Lopez

By Ryan Burton

BoxingScene Radio welcomed Robert Garcia to the most recent edition of the show. The world class trainer spoke about a number of topics including his brother Mikey Garcia's next fight. The younger Garcia (31-0, 26KOs) won the WBO bantamweight title with a dominant technical decision victory over Orlando Salido in January. A headbutt injured his nose in the fight and required surgery.

He is scheduled to return to the ring this summer. Puerto Ricans Juan Manuel Lopez and Orlando Cruz  have been mentioned as possible opponents. Robert said that his preference is for his brother to face the former two-division champion.

"I would personally prefer JuanMa Lopez because its a bigger name on Mikey's record but Orlando Cruz has been making a lot of noise lately and has picked up some good wins so both would be good fights.  JuanMa is the bigger name though so hopefully it happens," Garcia told BoxingScene Radio.
How is it worthless??
Maybe cause Juanma has done nothing to even be in consideration for this fight. Unless getting ko'd counts??
This will be a fun fight, I think a certified war. I see JuanMa getting murked around the 11th. Edit: I also think the Garcia/Cruz fight being a good banger and I think Cruz has the chance to pull…
