In a recent interview with the Manila Bulletin, trainer Freddie Roach stated that a twelve round decision over Juan Manuel Marquez is no longer a solid win for WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao. Roach wants Pacquiao to erase any and all doubts by scoring a knockout victory. They fought to a twelve round draw in 2004 and Pacquiao won a controversial twelve round split decision in 2008. On November 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, they clash for a third time at a catch-weight of 144-pounds.
Roach expects Pacquaio to end things in eight or nine rounds.
“Victory is no longer enough. I want Manny to KO Marquez,” said Roach from Baguio City, site of Pacquiao’s training camp. "I’d be surprised if the fight goes eight or nine rounds. Manny won’t fight him the way he did in the past."
