Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach is constructing the most important game plan of his entire career. On May 2nd, Roach's superstar boxer Manny Pacquiao will face 47-0 Floyd Mayweather Jr. at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The WBO, WBC and WBA welterweight titles will be at stake.

This is not the first time for Roach to appear in the corner opposite Mayweather. In 2007, Roach was the trainer for Oscar De La Hoya when he lost a close twelve round split decision to Mayweather. The fight generated a record 2.44 million pay-per-view purchases. Mayweather-Pacquiao is expected to break that existing record.

"Oscar was really big but I’ve been in some big fights in my life and that was one of the biggest of course. I thought we won the first six rounds, I thought we kind of blew it in the last six rounds. Clearly I thought the fight could have been a draw but the thing is, I learned a lot about Mayweather in that fight. I learned how he kind of works a little bit, so it’s helping out with my strategy with Pacquiao quite a bit," Roach told On The Ropes Boxing Radio .

Roach is currently studying a lot of tape on Mayweather, past and present.

"I’m going back and watching most tapes and I watch the current stuff also, so I have a complete gameplan with Manny and he’s right on board with me and I’m really excited about fighting this fight. This is bigger than anything I’ve ever had in my life," Roach said.
