Freddie Roach has been asked about Floyd Mayweather for years, largely because of the fight that never happened between Mayweather and Roach’s star boxer, Manny Pacquiao.

Roach did watch Mayweather’s win this past May over Marcos Maidana. He thinks Mayweather will repeat again and will do so “more easily.”

“He learns in his matches. He absorbs things,” Roach told BoxingScene.com on July 25. “He’ll fight a smarter fight more consistently. He’ll fight 10 rounds the way he did the last six. He gave the first four rounds away a little bit. Mayweather’s a smart fighter. He learns quick. He’s just the more intelligent fighter. Maidana’s just a puncher.”
