Roach: Pacquiao Knocked Amir Khan Out in The Gym

By Radio Rahim

According to Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach, WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao had Amir Khan down and out during various sparring sessions.

Roach was responding to a question regarding Pacquiao's willingness to face Khan anywhere , including the UK.

"Who cares? Amir Khan, [Pacquiao] knocked him out in the gym. It's no big fight," Roach said. "He had Amir down at least four times."

For a few years, Roach trained both Pacquiao and Khan at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood, California. Khan eventually left Roach and hired trainer Virgil Hunter in 2012.

Pacquiao returns on Saturday night at the Venetian in Macau when he defends his title against Chris Algieri. Khan is back on December 13th against Devon Alexander at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
