Amir Khan’s trainer, Freddie Roach, says he is not concerned about a hometown decision coming from Saturday’s bout being in Lamont Peterson’s hometown of Washington, D.C.
Roach briefly spoke to several reporters following Friday’s weigh-in.
Q: What are your thoughts on the judges for tomorrow?
Roach: “No problem.”
Q: Why not?
Roach: “Why? They’re professionals. They’re professional judges. They do their job. And we expect that the best man will win and that we think we’ll get a fair shake, and that’s what they’re there for.”
Q: I guess the real question, then, is whether you think it’ll go the distance.
Roach: “No.”
