According to Freddie Roach, trainer of former four division world champion Miguel Cotto (40-5, 33KOs), the Puerto Rican superstar is very close to revealing the name of his next opponent.

He was scheduled to return on a date in June, in the headline fight of an HBO Pay-Per-View event, but made a decision to postpone his return as the availability of top opponents was lacking.

Roach spoke to Cotto, who indicated to the trainer that his team was putting the finishing touches on their next opponent and they would reveal the name of that fighter very soon.

"Miguel told me they were finishing something up, and he seems to have an opponent....but he wouldn't tell me the name, because he says I have a big mouth and I talk too much and he prefers not to reveal it, yet," said Roach to ESPN Deportes.

There has been a lot of talk regarding a potential catch-weight bout with former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez, who coincidentally just entered training camp in Mexico. The biggest issue in making this fight is the weight. Marquez is looking to go as high as 149 to 150-pounds. Roach is not confident that Cotto is capable of getting down that low. Cotto has not fought at anything less than 152 since 2009.

Roach has no idea if the opponent in mind is Marquez. He's waiting, like everyone, to find out the information.

"I don't know [if the opponent is Marquez]. All I know right now is that Miguel is very close to confirming his next fight and they will release the name of his opponent very soon," Roach said.
