According to Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach, everyone involved in the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao negotiations is pushing for the fight to happen on May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The positive showing from all sides is what motivated Roach to begin scouting for sparring partners and putting together a training schedule for Pacquiao.

In the past, Roach has questioned Mayweather's desire to face Pacquiao. That is no longer the case. Roach is now convinced Mayweather wants the fight, and he says CBS CEO Les Moonves, who has Mayweather under an exclusive contract, is making the biggest push of all for a May 2 pay-per-view explosion.

"[Mayweather] talked at two basketball games, he must want it,” Roach said to BoxingScene.com. "I talked to Michael Koncz about [the fight] and he said it is taking place. I don't think he has any reason to lie to me."

“Floyd talking on TV twice at the basketball games. To get him to open his mouth is very unusual. [Mayweather] obviously wants the fight, [Top Rank CEO Bob] Arum wants the fight. I want the fight. Manny wants the fight. and Les Moonves wants the fight more than all of us. A lot of good names want this fight and usually when those high people want it they get it."
