Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach is convinced that WBC/WBA welterweight and junior middleweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (46-0, 26KOs) is well past his best. Roach, who trains WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, says their chances to win have increased based on Mayweather's claimed decline.

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, who promotes Pacquiao, wants to make the mega-match in 2015. They have been unable to make the fight for the last few years.

“Everyone would have liked to see the fight have happened earlier,” Roach said to The San Francisco Chronicle. “But it’s still the biggest fight out there, and there is still a huge audience that wants to see it. I think Mayweather is a little shot, and we have a better shot now.”

Pacquiao defends his title against undefeated Chris Algieri on November 22nd in Macau. After that fight, he would love to face Mayweather.

“Of course, I want this fight,” Pacquiao said. “People have always been bothering me, ‘When is this fight going to happen?’ … ‘When is this fight going to happen?’ I am ready to fight Floyd anytime.”
