Rumors are running rampant that a rematch between Floyd Mayweather and Miguel Cotto will take place on May 2nd. Meaning that fights involving Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao and Cotto and Saul Alvarez (who has already moved on to a rumored bout versus James Kirkland on that aforementioned date) will not take place in the first half of 2015.

Trainer Freddie Roach has a vested interest given that he works with both Pacquiao and Cotto.

His reaction to the possibility of Mayweather-Cotto II?

"Y'know, Miguel already fought Mayweather once, since he's been here at  the Wild Card he's actually become a better fighter and I think he has a much better shot at beating him this time out," Roach told BoxingScene.com on Wednesday afternoon at his gym.

"I'm very excited for him but still, the best fight in the world right now is Manny and Mayweather and I thought we needed that fight to happen.

"I still hope it does. The thing is (Mayweather) is not the bravest guy in the world."

So is his gut feel that Mayeather-Pacquiao will remain nothing but a figment of our imagination (again)?

"Yeah, the thing is I talk to Bob (Arum) and he's worried then (Les) Moonves (the head of CBS) calls and he's like,'We're going to get him.' So y'know, there's good and bad I hear everyday, nothing really decisive yet, though."
