Trainer Freddie Roach denies making comments pertaining to an alleged divorce move by Jinkee Pacquiao, the wife of Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao. In a few circulated reports, Roach was quoted as saying Pacquiao was served with divorce papers prior to his November trilogy fight with Juan Manuel Marquez - and blamed that incident for Pacquiao's lackluster performance in the fight. But, Roach denies ever making those statements.
“I never said that in my life, but someone wrote it, and someone lied. I said I knew him [Manny] and his wife weren’t getting along before the fight, but I never said that. The thing is, we did have a bad week before the last fight and everything kind of fell apart and a lot of distractions, and he’s got rid of all those distractions and now everything is smooth,” he told ABS-CBN News.
