Roach Confident Cotto Would Beat Martinez, Canelo

One of Miguel Cotto’s goals is to face Floyd Mayweather once again, according to his new trainer Freddie Roach. This was revealed by Roach during a recent public workout in Florida. On Saturday in Orlando, Cotto (37-4, 30KOs) will face Delvin Rodriguez. Beyond Rodriguez, Roach would like to see Cotto enter a big fight - against Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez or WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez. And Roach says Cotto would easily beat either of them.

“I think Miguel is going to win [on Saturday night]. He then might fight against Canelo Alvarez or Sergio Martinez and I think he can easily beat them, so he can have a rematch with Floyd Mayweather. This is simple, Miguel has been working very hard on things that I thought were weaknesses. He has great discipline and that's all that I ask for," Roach told Javier Maymi.
