Roach: Ariza Will Work Pacquiao's Corner on Saturday

By Rick Reeno

MGM Grand, Las Vegas - Despite some of the comments that were made on last weekend's episode of 24/7, trainer Freddie Roach has confirmed that strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza will indeed work the corner of Manny Pacquiao this coming Saturday night at the MGM Grand, when the Filipino superstar defends his WBO welterweight title against undefeated Timothy Bradley.

According to Roach, he had a big talk with Pacquiao last night and they agreed that Ariza, cutman Miguel Diaz and Buboy Fernandez would be the other three men working the corner.

"[In the corner] its going to be Alex Ariza, Miguel Diaz and Buboy. I had a long talk with Pacquiao last night. There are no issues [within the team]. Everyone knows their roles and nobody will be stepping on each other's toes. [For example] if Manny gets cut, Miguel Diaz will be the guy working on it," Roach said.
