Rivera Says Tickets Selling Very Fast For Garcia-Herrera

Tickets for Danny Garcia vs. Mauricio Herrera in Puerto Rico are being snapped up quick, according to Ivan Rivera, the President of Puerto Rico Best Boxing. WBC super lightweight champion Garcia is defending his title against Mauricio Herrera on March 15th in the Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum in Bayamon.

Rivera's company is having their first co-promotion with Golden Boy Promotions. He says there are several factors that he attributes to the accelerating ticket sales - he explains that a major television network, Showtime, has returned to Puerto Rico, and the fans are able to see the presentation of a Puerto Rican champion at a period of time when the country is suffering a championship dry spell.

"We are very excited about this event and hope to have a sellout by the first week of March," Rivera said.

Garcia, who was  born in Philadelphia, was in Puerto Rico a week ago to confirm his defense against Herrera. The Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum has a capacity for 10,000 spectators.
