Rios vs. Alvarado II in Talks For March 16th, Staples

By Mike Coppinger

BoxingScene.com has been advised by sources at HBO that a second fight between Brandon Rios (31-0-1, 23KOs) and Mike Alvarado (33-1, 23KOs) is being planned for March 16th, possibly at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

The first encounter in October was a slugfest in which Rios stopped Alvarado, though the bout was fought on even terms, begged for a rematch.

Rios had been pegged for an April fight with Manny Pacquiao, but that fell by the wayside with Pacquiao's knockout loss to Juan Manuel Marquez.

a rematch is fair since alvarado was winning that fight imo. it was a barn burner, hoping the 2nd one is the same!

Not surprised by a rematch. That first one was a great slugfest.
