Over the past couple of years a fight between two-time Olympic gold medalists Vasyl Lomachenko (8-1) and Guillermo Rigondeaux (18-0) has been discussed.

The 36-year-old Rigondeaux has had a tough time securing fights since his 2013 victory over Nonito Donaire.

"I am the only one who will fight against anybody. I will fight everyone but no one wants to fight me," Rigondeaux explained.

At one point Lomachenko's promoter Bob Arum, who used to promote Rigondeaux, said that he tried to make the fight but that Rigondeaux's team was unreasonable with their purse demands.  That was when Lomachenko was a featherweight champion and they were fighting only one weight class apart.

Now with two weight classes separating them, Rigondeaux knows he would have to move up in weight to make the fight happen and said that he is willing to meet him in the middle. He believes that the fans would be in for a treat with both fighter's high ring IQ's and elite skill sets.

"Lomachenko is at 130 and we are willing to meet him half way. He is a great champion, a two-time Olympic champion. He is fast and explosive. It would be a great fight," Rigondeaux stated.

However, the Cuban is worried that the fight may not ever come to fruition because even though he is willing to move up in weight, Lomachenko has expressed his desire to win a title at lightweight and become a three-division champion. The 5'4" Rigondeaux makes 122 with little effort and could make the 118 pound bantamweight limit if he wanted to so a move up featherweight will probably be the highest weight that he reaches.

"I want to go to 126 to fight him and now he's at 130 then maybe he goes to 135. He keeps moving up," Rigondeaux told BoxingScene.com.
