Hollywood Florida - Earlier ths weelk, Cuban star Guillermo “The Jackal” Rigondeaux, and his physical conditioner DJ. Montanocordoba, were working hard in the gym as they began the training camp for the scheduled Showtime televised clash with WBA super bantamweight champion Rico “Suavecito” Ramos, which takes place on December 31st.
Rigondeaux was criticized for his performence against veteran Ricardo Cordoba in 2010. The Cuban boxer said his style wasn't the best match for Cordoba, in terms of creating fireworks.
“There are different styles in every fight and also, remember that as a prizefighter I had never fought more than eight rounds,” Rigondeaux said.
Also, he sent a direct message to WBO/WBC bantamweight king Nonito Donaire - who plans to make a move to super bantamweight in early 2012.
“Where’s Nonito? Narváez showed us that Nonito is a one-dimensional fighter. The Argentinean came to do his work and revealed to us the Filipino is not what we believed that he was. Narváez put Nonito out of his rhythm by simply moving his legs," the Cuban said.
