Ricky Hatton To Announce Comeback Foe on Friday

Ricky Hatton will announce the opponent for his comeback fight this Friday.

The self-styled 'Hitman', who is making a ring return after a three-year absence that included his retirement last year, has called a press conference in Manchester to reveal who he will be facing on November 24.

The 33-year-old former welterweight and light welterweight world champion confirmed earlier this month he would be stepping through the ropes once more at the Manchester Arena.

Tickets have almost sold out for the date despite Hatton, whose last fight saw him demolished by Manny Pacquiao, not naming his opponent.

That will change this week, though, with the likes of Michael Katsidis believed to be in contention, while Paulie Malignaggi, who Hatton has already beaten, also linked.

Rising star Kell Brook said he could one day be interested in fighting Hatton, while Amir Khan's manager has also done the same on behalf of his fighter, but a domestic tear-up is unlikely on this occasion.

I've always liked Ricky Hatton but The Weebler's (spot on) statement is why I've never liked his fans. He could be fighting Roy Chubby Brown and they'd fill the MEN, singing and chanting while that God awful band play The Great Escape. Absolute f**kwits.
