LAS VEGAS --- Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer said his door is always open to talk to Golden Boy Promotions president Oscar De La Hoya, but he was clearly not very happy with De La Hoya's decision to hold a news conference on Saturday afternoon before the Mayweather-Maidana fight.
"I stand by the statement and hopefully we can sort this out in the next couple of weeks," Schaefer said. "But I'm not going to go do press conferences and stuff and talk to the media and (stuff) like that. My door is always open and we'll see where we are going to go."
Schaefer said there is no deadline for he and De La Hoya to sort out their internal problems with the company.
"I'm not talking about a deadline," Schaefer said. "In the next few weeks, I would like to have this all fixed up one way or the other.
"I don't think you negotiate or discuss these kinds of things through the press. You don't do that in my book.
"You guys asked me how I feel and what I had to say. I told you guys what I had to say and what my position is. I stand behind those statements, and that's it for me. There's nothing more for me to add or say. That's it."
