Ricardo Cordoba Plans To Retire From Boxing in 2012

Former super bantamweight world champion Ricardo 'Maestrito' Cordoba of Panama, who just turned 28, plans to retire from boxing in 2012. After an eleven year career, Cordoba sat down with his family to discuss his future and made a decision to retire next year. He plans to have two more fights before walking away from the sport. Cordoba has not fought since last November's split decision loss to Guillermo Rigondeaux.
"After some heartfelt discussions with my family, I will announce my retirement from professional boxing in 2012. It was a difficult decision for me. I'll be with my family, because boxing is not everything," Cordova said.
You will be sorely missed Cordoba. . . Thanks for the memories! Very skilled fighter who could box or go to war! Still remember hte absolute WAR you were in with Bernard Dunne!!!Post a Comment - View More User Comments (1)
