Rees on Broner: He hits incredibly hard for a lightweight

by Bill "Two Scoops" Emes

Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City - WBC lightweight champion Adrien Broner (26-0, 22 KOs) left a lasting impression on British challenger Gavin Rees (37-2-1, 19 KOs). Rees, who wasn't happy with his failed strategy, was blown away by Broner's power. He was punished in the third, and then suffered knockdowns in the fourth and fifth rounds.

Rees' team bragged about his own power prior to the match but says the punching power of Broner shocked him.

"I'm disappointed in my performance," Rees said. "I made a lot of mistakes. I think I have a better skill set than that. He hits incredibly hard for a lightweight. I knew he hit hard, but the power just stunned me. He's the best I've ever been in with."
Reese had the right strategy and tactics in the first 2 rounds... but then he started standing in front of Broner way too much and got demolished...
You mean the first 2 rounds where Broner pretty much just stood there…
Why are people so fixed about Rees height? I thought the divisions were by weight not height? A little midget named Mike Tyson used to KO HWs. Recently a lil midget named Pacquiao was holding down WW. Just admit that…
Rees is simply a British cab driver. Ponce de León hits harder than Broner andvwas robbed against him.
The crying has to eventually stop from you guys. It's becoming sickening to read, lmao!
