Welterweight contender Ray Robinson stopped Claudinei Lacerda in round seven Friday night at The Fillmore in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Robinson, who has now won his last 12 bouts improves to 23-2, with 12 KOs. Lacerda falls to 18-17-1, 13 KOs.
Fighting in front of a hometown crowd, the southpaw Robinson broke down Brazil-born fighter before referee Benjy Esteves Jr. stepped in and stopped the bout at 2:30 of the seventh round.
Robinson, who weighed 149 pounds at Thursday's weigh-in, is ranked number nine by the WBC. He has notched five knockouts amongst his last six wins.
Hard-hitting bantamweight Christian Carto improved to 8-0, with 8 KOs by stopping Rudolph Hedge (10-5-3, 4 KOs) after the fourth round.
Featherweight Vidal Rivera (5-0, 4 KOs) stopped Jesus Feliciano (0-3) at the end of the second round.
