Ray Beltran Manager is Fired Up - Tears Apart Terry Flanagan

By Steve Kim

Currently there are discussions for WBO lightweight champion Terry Flanagan unifying versus WBA belt-holder Jorge Linares in the first quarter of 2018. Which has left the manager of Ray Beltran - who happens to the number one contender in the WBO - nonplussed.

Feder said of Flanagan (33-0, 13 KO's) - "He wins the vacant because (Jose) Zepeda dislocates his shoulder in the second round. From that point on he fights defenses again literally no one. He beats a (Diego) Magdaleno who has zero power. He fights (Petr) Petrov, probably his only somewhat legit defense, and that’s against a guy with once again no power, and three-and-a-half inch height advantage.

"So I ask, who the hell has Terry Flanagan beat? He’s mouthing off like he’s some amazing fighter, deserves the big fights, hey pal no one, and I mean no one know who you are. He suddenly wants to be a tough guy and call out Jorge, well sure why not, after that last performance against Luke (Campbell) suddenly he wants in. Then he talk about Beltran like he’s an old man. Well, here’s the wake up call 'Turbo', Ray Beltran is the WBO mandatory. He’s the number one lightweight contender in the world. He got there by fighting real guys on big stages."

Beltran (34-7-1, 21 KO's) in his most recent fight defeated Bryan Vasquez in early August.

"So, if you think Beltran is just some old man that no one will respect you for beating, you should call up Ricky Burns. Ricky is the real deal. He and the Scottish fans might give you some tips on the old man. I just love how these guys come wining about what they deserve. You had a bunch of free money, shit defenses, and suddenly you’re among the elite," continued a fired up Feder.

"You want to prove you’re not about the money, which you’ve stated, and only about the belts, then put your WBO belt up and fight Raymundo Beltran, you know, the guys the WBO ranked who you’re supposed to fight, but are afraid to. Ray Beltran has something none of the guys you have fought have, monster punching power. He’s the biggest 135 pounder you will ever see and come fight night, when he lands one on that jaw of yours, you might just learn to respect your elders.

"The phone is ringing 'Turbo'. Have your boy Frank Warren, give Bob Arum a call. Come fight the old man from Los Mochos Mexico and the United States."
Why would he give up the belt when a unification trumps a mandatory. Beltran would have to wait and fight the winner.
i was responding to the post that said beltran needs to fight tank davis or verdejo and i…

Beltran should be banned from boxing ... he is on PEDs and almost killed someone in the ring even if that was 2015..

I like the Beltran fight. These fighters have to satisfy mandatories otherwise it must just becomes a battle of who has the biggest t.v. deal, who has the best promoter, or who fills arenas. It's not really true competition. I…

Flanagan’s bum tour is over. He either is gonna unify with Linares which is good or have to defend against Beltran. Either way he has no where to run and no where to hide or he can run but everyone…
If the money is right and there's no options on Figueroa, he would. Haymon allowed Jacobs, Khan and Chavez Jr. take fights with GB and K2 on HBO. We don't hear anything about Haymon asking other fighters from other promotions…
