Texas Station, Las Vegas - Super featherweight contender Rances Barthelemy (16-0, 11KOs) won a much tougher than expected eight round unanimous decision over late-replacement Robert Osiobe (11-5-4, 6KOs). The scores were 79-72, 78-73, 78-73.
Barthelemy appeared to get hurt in at least two rounds, he looked tired, and his punches were not well coordinated. Osiobe was wild, his punches were all over the place and he pressed the action in several rounds.
Barthelemy-Osiobe was an untelevised fight which followed the ShoBox main event between Willie Nelson and Yudel Jhonson. Barthelemy was originally scheduled to be a part of the ShoBox card, but his opponent fell out a few days ago. This was the first ring appearance for Barthelemy since decisioned previously undefeated Hylon Williams in February.
