Ramos-Rigondeaux on 12/3 Cotto-Margarito Undercard

By Ryan Maquiñana

WBA regular junior featherweight champion Rico "Suavecito" Ramos and interim holder Guillermo "El Chacal" Rigondeaux will consolidate their belts on the Dec. 3 Cotto-Margarito undercard at Madison Square Garden, according to Rigondeaux’s manager Gary Hyde.

The 24-year-old Ramos (20-0, 11 KOs), out of Watts in South Los Angeles, is two months removed from a come-from-behind seventh-round knockout of Akifumi Shimoda in Atlantic City that dethroned the Japanese champ.

Rigondeaux (8-0, 6 KOs), a 30-year-old Miami-based Cuban and two-time Olympic gold medalist, made the first defense of his interim title in March, a first-round destruction of Willie Casey.
