In a story that flew under the radar, heavyweight amateur Hasim Rahman Jr., the 19-year-old son of former heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman, was involved in a serious car accident on May 13th in Las Vegas, which killed 43-year-old delivery driver Ricardo Martinez, a local resident.

According to details released by a Fox News affiliate in Las Vegas, Martinez was stopped in a 1999 Mitsubishi Faso delivery truck in the inside left turn lane on eastbound Flamingo Road at South Koval Lane at about 3:39 a.m. on May 13th when a 2009 GMC Yukon Denali ran into him. The GMC was driven by Rahman Jr., and Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Rahman had three passengers in the car - 19-year-old Pamela Ross of Las Vegas; 19-year-old Ariel Dodd of Las Vegas; and 21-year-old Marcus Falley of Las Vegas. Rahman only suffered minor injuries but Ross and Dodd were seriously injured and Falley had moderate injuries. They were all transported to University Medical Center.
