R. Bailey: I’m Looking Forward To F***ing Alexander Up

Randall Bailey is all business now that he knows where his September 8 welterweight title defense against Devon Alexander will take place.

Training has long ago begun for Bailey’s first title defense, which takes place at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Well over a month had elapsed between bout agreement and the show’s location.

In that time, the two camps have repeatedly jawed back and forth at each other through the media. A late night call to the defending titlist to get his latest thoughts on the fight revealed confirmation of the 37-year old puncher’s prediction for the fight.

“Devon Alexander is definitely going to get his ass whopped,” Bailey said of the upcoming fight during an interview on ATG Radio (Editor’s note: Jake Donovan is a co-host of the internet radio show). “They’re talking all that sh*t. I don’t know if they know magic. They gonna have to know magic if they want to find a way to beat me.”

Bailey is always all business when it comes to boxing, but something about this title defense has brought out the talkative side of the usually reserved veteran. With the fight now less than a month away, Bailey has chosen to place his focus on something far more productive – training.

“Trust me, I got tired arguing with him online,” Bailey insists. “They just talking; they don’t mean half the sh*t they say. I’m really looking forward to f***ing him up.”

Bailey (43-7, 37KO) makes the first defense of the belt he won in a come-from-behind 11th round knockout of Mike Jones in their vacant title fight this past June. The win gave Bailey his second champtionship, with his two reigns coming more than a decade apart.

Bailey has a problem with "pulling the trigger" ... age clearly has a lot to do with it but he has done this before. I hope Bailey's work-rate increases as I'm hoping for a decent fight .... or else, we…

I like the fight if alaxander wins in impressive fashion then he's a real player at welterweight.

Alexander is a lot better than Jones.... again though, he has the puncher's chance. Just a lot harder with a faster more mobile opponent
