Today in Sofia, Bulgaria, a press conference took place where current European heavyweight champion Kubrat Pulev (17-0, 9 KOs) revealed his plans for the near future. The Bulgarian fighter announced that he’s going to face former World Boxing Association [WBA] world champion Ruslan Chagaev (31-2-1, 20 KOs) of Uzbekistan. The bout will probably take place on August 24th in one of the cities in Germany.

“The fight is not done 100%, but I think I’ll happen. Chagaev is an experienced opponent, he lost only to [Wladimir] Klitschko and Povetkin. He’s going to be one of the most dangerous opponents I’ve faced. However, I believe in my skills and I hope I’ll win,“ Pulev said.

Pulev has been inactive since September of 2012, when he knocked out giant Alexander Ustinov. Chagaev last fought in March, easily beating Mike Sheppard.

He has trouble getting fights outside germany from my understanding. regulations not are not as strict as most other european countries. I don't think he can get a licence in england & russia. switzerland already pulled the plug once. i don't think chagaev has fought outside germany in many years
........he has hapatitis? He should be the most avoided fighter in boxing
It's easy to get vaccinated and become immune to the Hep B virus. All boxers in Germany are required to receive the vaccine.
........he has hapatitis? He should be the most avoided fighter in boxing
It's hard to tell what's going on. The whole thing started when Don King won the purse bid for Chagaev Valuev 2, and put it in Finland which was a head scratcher at the time. Sure enough, Chagae...
