As previously reported on BoxingScene.com, during Tuesday's IBF purse bid - K2 Promotions beat out Sauerland Event to secure the promotional rights to the heavyweight clash between IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO champion Wladimir Klitschko and mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev. The fight is tentative for September 6th at the O2 World Arena, a 16,000-seat venue in Hamburg, Germany.
Klitschko’s K2 Promotions securing the rights with a winning bid of just over $7.25 million, and Sauerland, who promote Pulev, offered over $5.29 million.
Pulev (20-0, 11KO) is not worried about when and where the fight takes place. He feels very confident about his ability to defeat Klitschko (62-3, 52KO).
"No matter where and when, I will get the title. I'm ready to replace Wladimir Klitschko as the world champion," Pulev said.
Promoter Kalle Sauerland is also feeling good about Pulev's chances.
"We are looking forward to a great fight. Kubrat Pulev has all of the [necessary tools to win] the fight against Wladimir Klitschko [and make] heavyweight history."
