Lucas "La Maquina" Matthysse and Ruslan Provodnikov are set to go to war in a 12-round junior welterweight showdown on Saturday, April 18 at Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, NY. Matthysse (36-3, 34 KOs) vs. Provodnikov (24-3, 17 KOs) will be televised on HBO.

Both fighters are regarded as hard punching, dangerous boxers who take part in very exciting contests. Between the two of them, Matthysse is seen as the better boxer who may use his legs instead of standing in one place to trade power punches.

Provodnikov is not going to allow Matthysse to stay away. He doesn't see any way that Matthysse will be able to avoid a brawl.

"He might try to box or he might try to move but I already know which way I’ll be fighting, and most of my fans know which way I’ll fight. I think that no matter how much he thinks he can move or box, sooner or later he’ll have to take the risk and he’ll have to engage and that will happen sooner or later and that’s when whatever boxing is going to turn into a brawl anyway. I think it will happen and we’ll see, we’ll see how he wants to make the fight," Provodnikov told On The Ropes Boxing Radio .
