It was reported in the Reading Eagle, that heavyweight prospect Travis Kauffman (10-0, 7KOs), 21, pleaded guilty on Tuesday in Berks County Court to raping a 12-year-old girl in his Exeter Township residence in January 2005. Kauffman faces at least 5-years in prison. The court has allowed him to box until sentencing in September.
He's been free on $10,000 bail since his arrest April 15, 2005. Investigators in the case said Kauffman had sexual relations with the girl at his residence on Jan. 31, 2005. He was 19 at the time.
The legal trouble does not stop there, Kauffman is also is accused of selling marijuana on March 18, 19 and 29, 2004, to undercover officers in Reading. A hearing is scheduled in August on the drug charges.
