Russian promoter Andrei Ryabinsky of World of Boxing, and Olympic gold medal winner Alexander Povetkin, are getting prepared to travel to the United States.

As previously reported on BoxingScene.com, Povetkin (30-1, 22KOs) and his promoter are going to sit ringside at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York - when WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder defends his world title against 26-year-old Polish contender Arthur Szpilka.

Povetkin is the mandatory challenger to Wilder and the WBC has ordered the two fighters to face each other following this bout.

During the visit, Ryabinsky plans to begin face to face discussions with Wilder's adviser, Al Haymon, regarding the mandatory fight. If Szpilka pulls off the upset, he is also advised by Haymon.

Ryabinsky and Povetkin plan to create a lot of headlines during their stay. The Russian promoter indicates that there will be a lot of interviews and media commitments for his fighter.

"We will be leaving to go to New York to have discussions on the Povetkin-Wilder fight," Ryabinsky said. "We are also bringing Alexander Povetkin, who will be in New York to attend the fight between Wilder and Szppilka. There will be many meetings and interviews. Apparently, the time has come for us, along with Povetkin, to appear in the United States. There will be a lot of interesting things."

Povetkin last fought in November when he stopped Polish giant Mariusz Wach in the twelfth round.
