There have been reports in the Polish press that representatives from Portfel.pl, a big sponser of former two division champion Tomasz Adamek (45-2, 28 KOs), would like to place the Polish superstar in a fall showcase in Poland, and there is talk of a Eastern European opponent. WBA "regular" heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin (24-0, 16 KOs) has been mentioned.

An actual Povetkin-Adamek encounter is far from being reality. Povetkin's manager, Vladimir Hryunov likes the idea of facing Adamek, but there haven't been any discussions or offers presented.

Both boxers have upcoming fights. Povetkin faces mandatory challenger Hasim Rahman on July 14th and Adamek takes on Eddie Chambers on June 16th.

"The idea is interesting, but we haven't heard anything and there hasn't been any offer. We should also remember that my boxer has a title defense waiting for him in July. And the final say on a fight with Adamek is not made by me, but by the promoters of Alexander - Sauerland Event," Hryunov said.

Adamek's promoter Kathy Duva, CEO of Main Events, echoed Hryunov's statements. She likes the idea of a fight with Povetkin, but there haven't been any discussions or offers.
