According to former champion Daniel Ponce De Leon (44-5, 35KOs), he is scheduled to return on September 21 in Mexico. The card is also going to feature Pablo Cesar Cano. Ponce De Leon is possibly going to begin his super featherweight run on the card. In his last fight, in May, Ponce was stopped in the ninth round by Abner Mares. Ponce is willing to stick around at 126 - if Golden Boy matches him against the winner of this month's bout between Mares and Jhonny Gonzalez.

"I can make 126 pounds or go to 130 pounds with no problem. In fact I fought at super featherweight against Adrien Broner and that was ok. My future depends on whether I can get the rematch with Mares or give Jhonny Gonzalez a rematch. But if there is nothing, then we will find a super featherweight title fight," Ponce said.
