Photos: Zou Shiming Makes Pro Debut in Macau, China
The most decorated amateur boxer in Chinese history, Zou Shiming, won his first match of his first professional competition at the Cotai Arena in Macau. The venue was specially decorated for the showdown, which was titled "Fists of Gold," in honor of his Olympic success. Zou’s swept Mexico’s Eleazar Valenzuela over four rounds in their flyweight bout. Zou is widely regarded as one of the trailblazers of Chinese boxing. He won two consecutive Olympic gold medals at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and the 2012 games in London in the light flyweight division. He is the first and only Chinese boxer to win an Olympic gold medal in boxing.
