CAGUAS, PUERTO RICO- Former two time world champion Juan Manuel “Juanma” Lopez weighed today 134 pounds, seven days before his return to the ring on February 2 at the Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum when he faces Aldimar Silva Santos in a PR Best Boxing Promotions (PRBBP) presentation in association with Top Rank, to be broadcasted live and exclusively on DIRECTV Pay Per View in Puerto Rico and the United States.

Juanma Lopez (31-2, 28 KOs), a former super bantamweight and featherweight champion showed his good condition. Lopez will headline the show facing Aldimar Silva Santos (18-3, 9 KOs), from Brazil, in a fight scheduled to 10 rounds at 128 pounds. Lopez is actually the #5 ranked by the WBO in the featherweight division.

 “I’m still training hard because I want to show that I can be a world champion again”, Lopez said. “We are working for a long time and now it’s the time to make the weight next Friday and to fight on Saturday (February 2)”.

While, the WBO #1 lightweight ranked and WBO Latino lightweight champion, Jose “Chelo” Gonzalez (21-0, 16 KOs), knew the name of his new rival, Mexican Alejandro “Soma” Rodriguez (18-8, 10 KOs) for his 10 round scheduled fight. Gonzalez weighed 143 pounds today a week before his bout.

McJoe Arroyo (11-0, 6 KOs), a former 2008 Olympian and 2007 Amateur World Championship bronze medalist, will face former IBF super flyweight champion Rodrigo “Gatito” Guerrero (18-4-1, 12 KOs), for the IBF Latino superflyweight title in a fight scheduled to 10 rounds. McJoe, who is the WBO #9 ranked in the super flyweight division, weighed today 122 ¼ pounds in the pre weigh in. Guerrero, from Mexico, was the IBF 115lb champion between 2011 and 2012 when he lost the belt against Juan Carlos Sanchez Jr. Actually, Guerrero is ranked #4 by the IBF in the super flyweight division.

While the WBO Youth flyweight champion and WBO flyweight #12 ranked, Jonathan “Bomba” Gonzalez (11-0, 10 KOs) weighed today 117 ½ pounds for his fight against Omar Salado (23-5-2, 14 KOs) for the WBO Latino flyweight title bout scheduled for 10 rounds.

Also in the show, 2008 Olympian and 2009 Amateur World Champion, McWilliams Arroyo (13-1, 11 KOs), the #6 WBO and #14 IBF ranked in the flyweights, will fight versus former world champion Sonny Boy Jaro (34-11-5, 24 KOs) in a bout scheduled to 10 rounds in a 113 pounds maximum. Jaro, who held the WBC flyweight title in 2012, is ranked #4 by the WBC in the flyweights.

And, 2012 Olympian, Felix “Diamante” Verdejo (2-0, 1 KOs) will make his Puerto Rico debut when he faces Jose Santiago (2-3, 2 KOs) in a 132 pound fight scheduled for four rounds. Verdejo is coming of a December, 2012, unanimous decision win over Leonardo Chavez in Las Vegas and a spectacular :21 seconds KO victory last Saturday in New York over Tomy Archambault.

Three more bouts will complete the show.
