Photos/Weights: Jesus Soto Karass vs Sid El-Harrak, More

TUCSON, Ariz. – Showdown Promotions, in association with Top Rank, will present a fight card televised by TV AZTECA. The event will be taking place at the Casino Del Sol AVA Amptheatre on Saturday and will feature in its main event, Mexican strongman Jesus Soto Karass (24-7, 16 KOs) from Los Mochis, Sinaloa. The always crowd pleasing fighter be facing 10-1-1 Said “The Messenger” El Harrak. Soto Karass came in at 152 Lbs., while El-Harrak was 150 Lbs.

Supporting Soto Karass will be undefeated and highly ranked prospect, Hanzel “El Tornadito” Martinez (17-0, 14 KOs). The brother-in-law of the former three- time world champion, Antonio Margarito, will be taking the next step in his career, inching closer to what every fighter strives for, becoming a world champion.  But first, El Tornadito will have to face late sub Felipe Rivas (12-10, 7KOs) for one of the WBC’s regional titles.

And putting an exclamation point to this huge boxing card will be the much-anticipated return of Jose Benavidez Jr. (14-0, 12 KOs). Jose is returning to the ring after a six month layoff due to a hand injury that needed surgery. Jose is excited to show the boxing world that he is back! Benavidez was 144 lbs, and opponent Josh Sosa was 142.8.
