Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas - At the Arena Metropolitan, WBC super flyweight champion Tomαs Rojas (36-12-1, 24KOs) of Veracruz retained his title by stopping Jalisco's Juan Josι "Goofy" Montes (19-2, 12KOs) in twelve rounds. The challenger was unable to come out for the final round.

Rojas systematically punished his opponent from the start of the fight and broke him down as the bout went along. Montes was never able to land one of his signature knockout punches. He was beaten up to the head and body, with significant swelling all over his face by the late rounds. When bell rang to start the twelfth, Montes retired on his stool and the fight was waved off by the referee.

In the co-feature, former IBF flyweight champion,Alberto "Topo" Rosas (34-6, 27 KOs) knocked out Colombian John Alberto Molina (28-18-3, 19 KOs) in the sixth round of their bantamweight bout.

Felipe Orucuta (20-1, 16 KOs) knocked out David Roque Ler Julio (30-9-0, 18 KOs) in the third with a left hook to the liver.
