Photos: Thompson Drills Price in British Boxing Stunner

British heavyweight champion David Price has lost his unbeaten record after a stunning second-round stoppage loss to American veteran Tony Thompson.

The 29-year-old was a hot favourite to continue his march up the heavyweight ranks, with a shot at the world title his ultimate goal.

But Thompson, an experienced campaigner whose only two recent losses came at the hands of world champion Wladimir Klitschko, had other ideas, and he ended things early with a brutal right hand.

Nearly 6,000 fans crammed into Liverpool's Echo Arena to cheer on Liverpudlian Price, who had beaten all of his last seven opponents inside four rounds.
The bout was seen live all over the United States on WealthTV and www.wealthtv.com will be replayed TONIGHT AT 10 PM EST.

[QUOTE=charlieg;13076274]You're being an apologist. People were making Price out to be the next coming. Those with a bit more wisdom said to wait for him to be tested properly first. Thompson was his first proper test. He failed, miserably. Thompson…

[QUOTE=Jocknerd94;13076214]People saying hype job and how overrated he is because of one loss are going overboard. One loss does not ruin a career. This could be good for him. It shows him what he needs to get better at and…
