Photos: Sonny Bill Williams Bests Botha, Cooper Shines

Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Boondall, Queensland, Australia - Rugby star Sonny Bill Williams (6-0, 3 KOs) sucked it up to win a controversial ten round unanimous decision over former heavyweight champion Francois Botha (48-9-3, 29 KOs). Williams swept most of the fight with his boxing ability, but it was Botha who rallied strong at the end. The scores were 97-91, 98-94, 97-91. Controversy broke out as the fight was always scheduled to be a twelve round contest, but it changed to a ten round fight without prior notice.

Another Rugby star entered the boxing ranks, with cruiserweight boxer Quade Cooper (1-0, 1 KO) knocking out Barry Dunnett (1-2) in the first round.

The verb "Best" doesn't suit here well. "Sonny Bill Williams Defrauds Botha" would be much better. To everyone's surprise, the fight was rescheduled to a 10-rounder as Williams was getting his ass kicked badly. There was no way he would…
